I enjoy the author and am surprised and pleased to see the use of her birth name instead of her pen name as claim to the author.
Great foundation.
Long considered one of the classics of modern occultism, it is wonderful to see this back in print. In this short treatise, Ms. Fortune goes into great detail about an area of occultism that had been formally regulated to Theosophy, and brings it in line with the western tradition. A true, almost forgotten, gem.
Sometimes, where the physician seems at a loss, the meta-physician might just have the answer (what, if C.G.Jung and R.Steiner had collaborated,- but each had to be sworn to his all consuming opus magnum).
I'd been wondering about the human instincts and lack thereof and found the explanation in this wonderful little book, which may in parts appear dated and it's psychology condensed and simplified (but never simplistic).
Dion Fortune (Violet Firth) was a remarkable woman, who knew her magic well... and her psychology... and her religious symbology,- her "Mystical Meditations on the Christian Collects" is another perfect jewel!
